Kürzlich gelang mir dieser Schnappschuss bei einer Wanderung auf dem Muschelkalkweg bei Winterhausen, als eine weibliche Blaue Holzbiene (Xylocopa violacea) dabei war, auf Blüten vom Aufrechten Ziest (Stachys recta) zu landen. Blaue Holzbienen sind mittlerweile bei uns recht häufig, der Aufrechte Ziest besiedelt bei uns Halbtrocken- und Trockenrasen.

I recently took this snapshot when a female violet carpenter bee (Xylocopa violacea) was about to land on the blossoms of the stiff hedgenettle (Stachys recta). Blue wood bees are now quite common in our country, and the stiff hedgenettle colonises semi-arid and dry grasslands.
