thanks so much. it was one of those pleasant suprises. the closer i got the more groupings of mushrooms there were.

It is too dry where I live for a lot of mushrooms like the above, plus, I'm not out in the woods very much. Oh well...

amazingly we have one huge mushroom still persisting under the drying out raspberry bushes out front of tour house even though we are very dry here right now. i think they really live through and under the soil and just come up on occassion to amuse us.

An old photo, but one I missed. Not many mushrooms out along the trails with the dry weather.

this was definitely in wetter times. oddly i have one big mushroom staying under the sword ferns in the front yard. it doesn't look very happy, but there it is.

thank you! i found this one day when driving from one place to another and was drawn to stop and see what all was happening at the side of the road! there were many colonies of these mushrooms blanketing the slope.
