Built 1220
Dunstaffnage Castle is one of Scotland’s oldest stone castles, a dramatic medieval stronghold perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the Firth of Lorn and the entrance to Loch Etive, near Oban in Argyll and Bute.
Built: Around the 1220s by Duncan MacDougall , It was constructed at the height of Scotland-Norway rivalry for the western isles.
The stone colours in the wall are beautiful and may be worth a larger view, HWW to all!
