Ostrich chick and egg

Stuffed animals on display give me the creeps, but this was commonly done when these were collected over 100 years ago.

It is hard to believe that this chick will grown into a long legged, long necked ostrich. I visited an ostrich farm a number of years ago and was able to hold a baby chick about this size.

There were plenty of those in this museum, including 100 year old stuffed elephants and giraffes.
