Jefferson Memorial (Explored)

Jefferson Memorial as seen from Tidal Basin.

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C.was commissioned to honor the third president of the United States. The marble neoclassic building was completed in 1943, and the 19 foot tall bronze statue of Jefferson was added in 1947.
