Diese leicht angeknabberte wunderschön blühende Frühlingspflanze sah ich kürzlich in einem Vorgarten. Es handelt sich um das Balkan-Windröschen (Anemone blanda). Es kommt wild auf dem Balkan und Zypern, in West-Syrien, in der Türkei und im Kaukasus in Nadelwäldern, Gebüschen und Felsfluren in Höhenlagen von 150 bis 1700 Meter vor. In Deutschland wird die Art seit dem 19. Jahrhundert als Zierpflanze verwendet und ist seitdem verwildert.

This slightly nibbled yet beautifully blooming spring plant was recently spotted in a front garden. It is the Balkan anemone (Anemone blanda).
It occurs naturally in the wild across the Balkans and Cyprus, in western Syria, Turkey, and the Caucasus, where it grows in coniferous forests, shrublands, and rocky areas at elevations between 150 and 1,700 meters. In Germany, the species has been cultivated as an ornamental plant since the 19th century and has since become naturalized.
