Am Rand eines Getreidefelds landete ein weiblicher Großer Blaupfeil (Orthetrum cancellatum), weil es zwar warm und sonnig, aber immer wieder recht stürmisch war. Erstaunlich war der Fund, weil sich weit und breit kein Fluss, See oder Tümpel befand.
Übrigens: Jüngere weibliche Große Blaupfeile (und frisch geschlüpfte beiderlei Geschlechts) sind olivgelb gefärbt, männliche blau.

A female black-tailed skimmer (Orthetrum cancellatum) landed at the edge of a grain field because it was warm and sunny but quite stormy all the time. The find was astonishing because there was no river, lake or pond far and wide.
By the way: Younger female black-tailed skimmer (and freshly hatched ones of both sexes) are coloured olive yellow, males blue.
