Waiting For Christophe ...

Well, it appears that the wait is over as Christophe Ruelle, the President and CEO of Ipernity SA, has finally accepted the IMA proposals as announced in a brief update posted by William Sutherland.

The next few days should see further announcements being made on both sides once they have finalised the logistics of the transfer.

Got to be honest I'd almost given up hope that a deal could be struck and even today there's still a little voice inside my head saying "I'll believe it when it happens", but this isn't really a day to be negative ... it's a day to celebrate and to try and be as optimistic as we can be about the future.

It's also a day to say a big thank you to those involved within the 'inner circle' of the IMA, and not just William although I suspect his part has been significant, for all they've done to get us to this stage.

Thanks also to Christophe who it appears has finally showed us all that he does indeed still care about this great platform his team created all those years ago and the community that come to call it home.

Nice to see that this tram's destination is Ipernity, Paul. With a bit of luck and a fair wind, loads of folks will make the return journey from F...r back home to a successful photo site. :-)))

A cracking pic Paul..........and a clever touch with the destination..!!

..............and for the first time in ages I feel optimistic (ish) about our future on IP. All we need now is enough full-paying members to keep it running! I wonder if those who had given up hope and left IP will now consider coming back?

Great news, great image!! Thanks for the update, now we take a deep breath and on to the next phase (with fingers crossed behind my back)

The IM has taken on a monumental task and much appreciation is due the the IM Team. So much time and effort has gone into this adventure with so much more to do. The majority of the group members (myself included) have no idea what it took to achieve where we are in this process.

So again thank you to the I'M Team for their efforts on behalf of the ipernity community.

Merci also to Christoph for being willing to work with the IM Team.

Paul where do stand at this point as to what comes next. Will watch for informational updateS.

All I know Chris is what William has posted on the link I inserted above. Essentially he is hoping a Skype call can be held tomorrow (that could be today depending on when William posted) to work out the logistics of the transfer.

Indiegogo will then be permitted to transfer funds to IMA's account sometime early next week following the results of that call and it's expected Ipernity SA will make an announcement fairly soon to confirm the agreement.

I'm not involved in the discussions so I can't comment any further. I suspect though that so far this is all verbal and so the key moment will be when pen is put to paper, which by the sounds of it can't be far off! :)
