Where Blue Meets Yellow in the Dawn

The sun was making a faint appearance but the curtains were not yet drawn. It had been raining overnight and the sky remained full of cloud. I did not switch on the electric light.
I chose the Nikon D2Xs because it was to hand. Its capability in low light is not good; most commentators recommend not using it beyond 400 ISO. But that was not an option even with a fast f/1.4 lens wide open, so I elevated the ISO to its maximum of 3200 (this is an old camera).
I remember white balance was hard to get right. In post processing I noticed the dreadful grain and made it a bit more dreadful for effect. Right from the moment I had a serious camera I was fascinated by low light. Just being able to get an image in the dark seems amazing to me.

The Limbo Connection replied to Old Owl:

A search led me to the song. I had not heard it before. I tried versions by Bing Crosby and Connie Francis but I doubt I shall want to hear either again. Thanks nevertheless for your comment; always interesting, always welcome.

Old Owl replied to The Limbo Connection:

I agree. One hearing is quite enough. I saw your picture and its title and the song just leapt into my head. Can't get rid of the darned thing now.

The Limbo Connection replied to Old Owl:

What this exchange has told me is that my oft-repeated rant criticising contemporaneous songs for the total absence of a tune could also apply to an earlier period of popular music history.
