BE THE SCISSORS

In the poem's hand
Cutting and cut close
Be the word
That being a wing
Flies and
Forgets
Be the non-straight front
Of time
Starting fire
For birds
Cutting
The invisible thread
Of their flight
The clepsydra of their song
Be the biting invocation
Of verses with sharp nails
Tearing
The skin to its scar
Be a word with teeth
Be and bite the page
Let the barbed wire
Caught in the breath

///

SER A TESOURA
Na mão do poema
Cortando e cortado rente
Ser a palavra
Que sendo asa
Voa e
Esquece
Ser a frente não recta
Do tempo
Abrindo lume
Para que os pássaros
Cortem
O fio invisível
Do seu voo
A clepsidra do seu cântico
Ser a invocação mordaz
De versos com unhas afiadas
Rasgando
A pele à sua cicatriz
Ser vocábulo com dentes
Ser e morder a página
Deixar ficar
O arame farpado
Preso à respiração

Ou a pedra?

...a pedra não corta aos bocadinhos, mas fere em profundidade...e mata...

Poets strive to make hidden things visible, i.e. to put them into words.

...yes, cammino, they try to show what is covered by clouds or isn't seen/felt by ordinary people...
