At least you got good weather fror one day. The outbuildings are very inetersting at this property. Did you go and see the Cup and Saucer? It was disappointing the day we went, as lots of broken logs were in the water.

No we never even knew it existed. Clearly our research needs to be brushed up. It looks like we missed a great walk and photo opportunity there. In truth we had rather limited time here as we were en-route our digs, but now I see pictures of the cup & saucer I feel we missed out. Maybe next time :) Yes the weather on that Friday was not too bad, as can be seen here, improving slowly until the following Tuesday when we had clear sun and blue skies.

A part of my childhood was spent living in the grounds of Halswall house
