Overnight snow and heavy fog tempts me a little higher above my hometown to this scene. A country lane here that is most pleasant in the summer is turned into something quite different for a vehicle. I was surprised to encounter the two other walkers and their dog who were making a far more serious hike in this weather than me. I had rather sensibly left my own car some few hundred metres on the cleared main road behind me.
