HBM~ Shawl walk bench

Just a short time back, we took a trip to a Yorkshire Dales town called Leyburn. Only yards from its town centre was the start of a delightful walk called ‘The Shawl walk’. So called because near the far end of it, sits an impressive castle that once held Mary Queen of Scots prisoner. It is said that she made an escape attempt along the shawls upper edge (The shawl being a long steep valley) and lost her shawl en-route leading to her re-capture.

This carved bench was seen along the bottom path of our round walk here. PiP
Enjoy full screen.

HBM, enjoy the week.

Thanks Toz. I had a quick sit down and it was most comfortable, it would even fit two at a pinch.

Herb Riddle replied to gezginruh:

It was rather nice and quite unusual. Carved from a big tree I guess.

Glad you liked this bench Carol but it is carved from a tree not a rock :)
