Das in Wäldern gelegentlich auf Eichenrinde wachsende "Eichenmoos" ist kein Moos, sondern eine Strauchflechte, nämlich Evernia prunasti. Diese Flechtenart findet man nicht in stark luftbelasteten Gegenden und an lufttrockenen Standorten. Die Art gilt in Deutschland allerdings als nicht gefährdet. Bemerkenswert ist, dass aus dieser Flechte ein Grundstoff für Parfüme gewonnen wird. Das Foto entstand in einem Eichenforst.

The "oak moss" that occasionally grows on oak bark in forests is not a moss, but a shrubby thallus lichen, namely Evernia prunasti. This lichen species is not found in heavily air-polluted areas and in air-dry locations. However, the species is not considered endangered in Germany. It is noteworthy that a basic ingredient for perfumes is extracted from this lichen. The photo was taken in an oak forest.
