Nur selten zeigt der
C-Falter (Polygonia c-album) seine rindenfarbige Unterseite mit dem weißen C. Klar ist, dass diese Färbung (susammen mit den unregelmäßigen Flügelrändern) bestens der Tarnung dient, wenn der Falter auf einem Ast oder Baumstamm sitzt. Die schöne Oberseite des Falters zeigt das PiP.
