[26 Oct, 20:00 UTC] Our IT help has just reported that they have put a block in place to prevent this specific issue from happening again.
Our initial report
It appears that an AI agent is trying any email address it has to attempt to login, trying passwords, and even clicking 'Forgot password'. We have received the 'Reset password' link in email for ima moderator, and team, and one of my test accounts. And two members have reported being unable to login.
The message, 'Sorry too many unsuccessful tries. Please wait before trying again.' is a protection method at ipernity for such 'brute force' login attempts.
So of course that has to remain in place, and we can but suffer the scourge of malevolent AI. Please be patient and try again later.
[Sunday 25th] We contacted our outside IT support today. We await their reply, and will keep you informed.

I stay "logged in" on this device for just such an eventuality.

Glad to read that the protection seems to be working, at least at the moment.
The AI bots are not on Yandex servers at present ?
