This time last year, we didn't know that a lovely country called Ukraine would be pulverised by Russia's troups even though the Russian soldiers had been told that it was just practice. So many young people have died - unnecessarily and for what?
Now all we have to do is to hope that 2023 will be a quieter and more peaceful year than the one we're leaving.
Tony, my son, came up to visit me today which was wonderful. He was just on his own, as the grandchildren had other things to do, but on the bright side - it meant Tony and I could talk for Britain!!!!
At least I saw him before the end of 2022 and we've promised each other to see each other next year. He'd brought his "drone" from the college to have a look at the roof for me, but apparently it has a height limit, and my roof was over that limit. So no pics this time, he'll bring another drone next time, one that will be able to climb that high.
I really hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year. Take care if you are going out to celebrate, I'll be spending it indoors (as per usual). So have a great 2023 folks............

We've all had a good time and a nice break in routine, plenty of good food and a roaring fire in the wood stove, plus another "cat came for christmas" [he seems to have been dumped nearby a few weeks ago - and no sign of being "lost or strayed" even at the vets]. Some piccies will appear shortly.
Weather has been frightful, hasn't it ! First that cold snap* and then we've had heavy rain and strong winds for most of the past few days. It's dull and damp but not windy today, so I got some sleep - unlike a couple of nights ago, when the gusts were 70+ mph for a few hours.
*Although not a patch on what the Americans have been subjected to just recently.
So, it just remains for me to wish you a safe, happy, healthy & wealthy 2023.

As for the weather - I don't go out at all, and having double glazing helps me ignore the rain. I'm just hoping that we don't get the remnants of the US's storms!!!!! Have a wonderful, safe and healthy 2023.
