Here's some quick thoughts on some movies I've seen in the past month that I never got around to doing full blown Movie Moments on.
Death at a Funeral - Boring. What a waste of perfectly good talent.
The Box - Based of of Richard Matheson's story "Button, Button", it was slow, too long and Cameron Diaz's accent was horrible. Matheson's stories were often the subject for plots on the original Twilight Zone (best show ever), and the movie would have fared better as a TZ episode than a full length feature film. Great concept, but poorly executed. I have no doubt the original story was better.
Alice in Wonderland - It was alright. Looked pretty, but didn't draw me in. People complained about the acting of "Alice" but I say Crispen Glover did a worse job.
Cop Out - I remember people giving this bad reviews, but I enjoyed it. It wasn't a great movie, but it was a fun movie. It used 20 a year old cliche buddy-cop movie formula, but at least they used parts of the formula that worked. No wins for originality, but it did have some genuinely funny moments and was over-all an enjoyable movie.
