For a long time I would like to talk to you about a fabulous French artist, Agatha Ukeo, my friend, from my age group but as young as my grandchildren, because her creative mind is airy, colorful, and untimely. She invents characters that seem naïf but they aren't, that resemble comics but they aren't, that resemble fantastic realism and they are. They talk to us, meet the mythology of our dreams, fantasies, and fears. Fill us with pleasure and make us feel the irony and joy of living. It was a previlege of mine to meet Agatha in the ciberspace, she who is so down to earth and tells us stories through images, from the moeba to the human being, who daily dehumanizes into a monster, or a fairy.

Every day I glance through her website, I smile and I kiss her with gratitude.

Há muito tempo que ando para vos falar duma fabulosa artista francesa, Agatha Ukeo, minha amiga, do meu grupo etário mas tão jovem como os meus netos, porque a sua mente criadora é arejada, colorida, e intempestiva. Inventa figuras que parecem naïf mas não são, parecem banda desenhada mas não são, parecem realismo fantástico e são. Falam connosco, encontram-se com a mitologia dos nossos sonhos, fantasias, e temores. Enchem-nos de prazer e levam-nos a sentir a ironia e a alegria de viver.
Foi um privilégio encontrar a Agatha no ciberespaço, ela que é bem terrena e nos conta histórias por imagens, da amiba ao ser humano, que diariamente se desumaniza em monstro, ou fada.
