On Its Knees
After a wait of around 4 months, I finally had my X-ray as regular readers will know. I had to wait a further 9 days for the results which show I don’t have a break, nor a break that has healed itself. It may have been dislocated, though I suspect I inadvertently put it back in place by trying to close a window that is too high for me. It hurt like the devil! I have soft tissue damage, and they’ve stated I have osteoarthritis. Marvellous! I had hoped it was simply a break, as it could then be sorted, and I’d hopefully be pain free. I had a physio appointment soon, however they had to cancel that due to illness, and I now have to wait 6 weeks for a new appointment. In the meantime, I tried to get a GP appointment so I could sort out some pain meds, and to see what I should or shouldn’t be doing in work, however there are none available and I have to try again after Easter. What a shambles! Our illustrious leader, you know, the one who broke his own Covid laws, then lied about it, then stated he didn’t know he was breaking the law, he stated in the not too distant past that the NHS would receive millions once Brexit was done. In reality, I fear that he and the nasty party are determined to bring our NHS to its knees in readiness for privatisation. Then God help you if you don’t have much money!

The weather has improved somewhat in that it’s warmer now though it has been damp, on and off. Warmer is good.

Several people are off work with Covid, some of whom were socialising in the canteen. Call me antisocial, lol, but I don’t socialise. I keep my distance. I keep to myself. I try to social distance. Seems the best way at this time, to keep healthy and safe.

Work has been busy, lots of customers in the store. I’m working Good Friday and expect the store to be heaving, though we are closed on Easter Sunday which is great. It’ll be so nice to have a Sunday off, and we’re having a nice roast beef dinner with half price beef, so many meat offers at the moment. In less than 3 weeks’ time I’ll have a week off. I’m going to do my utmost not to take on any extra work, and just enjoy a nice long break; my body needs it.

That’s about it. Not much going on. Have a lovely Easter!

Well it's a sort of good news, with a bad kick up the "behind" to finish with. Osteoarthritis is a bummer and you know it's never going to be getting better. You'll just have to find a way of managing it. I know I've got arthritis and it isn't getting any better - as soon as I feel any pain coming on, I immediately take 2 paracetamol to stop it in its tracks from the getgo!!

Oh I do hope that the NHS isn't privatised - it's such a great thing, that the rest of the world are envious of us. As for people getting COVID - this is something that we are all going to have to cope with. It's never going away and as long as we all have our annual vaccinations, we should be fine.

I hope you have a great Easter too.

Thanks Jenny. My Mum had it, so I guess I know what to expect. I'm going to try and get some more powerful pain meds today, from the pharmacist. She had it in her knee, though mine is my shoulder, for now, and I suspect one wrist which is very painful.

Hopefully the upcoming local elections will prove to the Tories just how sick we are of them and their lies, though IMO the opposition aren't much better at this time.

Thanks.

All political parties are worthlessness. All in for what it can get them.. Well at least you have an answer re shoulder. I have osteo from my neck down throughout my spine.Rheumatoid in my hands. I find the heat creams help most. My favorite is a product called" icy hot" Somehow it uses both heat and cold. I also spend a bit of time with a heating pad on my back. It gives me relief also.
Meat is cheap?? Good grief, its gotten so expensive here my meat consumption has taken a real hit! And the quality is somewhat iffy at times. Especially beef.

Thanks Gracie. Yes, they all talk a good talk, but when you get down to it, they all lie and just say what they think you want to hear.

I can't bear cold on it, tried that. I find a hot water bottle soothes the most. Got some pain meds from the pharmacist, gave me relief for about 2.5 hours.

It's an Easter thing. Lamb and beef joints, and whole salmon are all half price in a few supermarkets. I've stocked up on some beef joints for the freezer. Half price, then my staff discount too. A bargain!
