Calçada portuguesa, Wave rythm

Portuguese pavement, Portuguese mosaic, or mosaic pavement is the established name for a specific type of floor covering used especially for paving sidewalks, public spaces, and private spaces in general. This type of pavement is widely used in Portuguese-speaking countries.

Another example here, now replaced by... something awful unfortunately.

Monte Gordo - praceta Casablanca

Monte Gordo - praceta Casablanca

Very hard in Monte Gordo to get a correct shot of it as most are now covered by café and restaurant terraces, this one is not very clean but the only one I could get a clear shot of, and this at 7am otherwise...

I really like the curves, shapes and textures in your main image Isabel. The paving seems to undulate and it works well in black and white.

The image in the PiP is sharp and detailed, but it seems a bit clinical for my taste!

The PIPis an old photo taken with maybe a pocket camera… but the square was pleasant, now it is a concrete monstrosity awfully tagged…

Awesome, I guess it was inspired by the sea waves :-) I've seen this pattern in Rio de Janeiro, most probably copied from Portugal ;-)
