Ribeira do Vascão is the border between Algarve and Alentejo. Penedos is 2km from there on the Alentejo side.
When I was young women used to come down there with the laundry to wash and once dried on the cistus they had to carry it uphills, a hard way up.
In Summer it is almost dry, some water retained in the "pegos" so laundry could be washed and kids could have a bath and some fun.
This is how it looked 10 days ago after the heavy rainfall we experienced.
