It really beautiful Isabel, but with some vicious looking thorns too. I like the delicate little flowerless and it stands out perfectly against the out-of-focus background.

I looked this up and apparently the very young shoots can be used as a substitute for the domesticated asparagus we all know.............but it also says it is a very poor substitute!
