Last cry...

I HAVE SEEN THIS GREEN OAK DECLINING, NOW THAT IS WHAT IS LEFT... IF I HAD TO BELIEVE IN A GOD IT WOULD BE IN TREES, FOR ME THEY ARE LIVING SOULS CAPABLE OF SUFFERING...

HERE 10 YEARS AGO, ALREADY DECLINING. IN PIP TOO.

Quercus ilex - Azinheiras

Always sad to see the end of an old tree, I wonder how old it was. In Bradgate Park a few miles from me there are old oaks that are hollow you used to be able to stand inside them, they are being fenced now because the ground was getting compacted by to many feet hopefully it will help them survive a little longer

Xata replied to Peter Castell:

These are in the wild. Over 150 years for sure, closer to 200 I guess.

I think they do. Maybe not as we do, but their are living souls too...

Yes, trees are very much living beings capable of more than we can understand, and like us, are subject to death, as all living beings are. But they die so gracefully. We can only learn from them.
