What vehicle do you use to drive here? The springs on our car would be ruined. ;-)))
Stunning scenery as per usual.
HFF, Diana and please relax.

Diana Australis replied to Amelia:

4WD but I do not drive there. This is a small very good section of road. 95% defies Western imagination as far as roads go. Mountain torrents filled with boulders, huge holes and landslips over deep glacier fed gorges. Imminent landslides a lot of the time, with loose scree and car sized rocks slipping down. It is best done by local experienced drivers. In these areas of NorthPakistan, the death rate among inexperienced drivers and their passengers is quite high. No bitumen of course. The slightest rain presents a super hazard.

Very nice Diana. The closest I ever got to K2 was flying over it in 1983!!

A breathtaking landscape! This bit of road looks very good but I can just about imagine what the bad bits are like (close your eyes and pray). You did well to use experienced local drivers who know their road and its hazards and who also know the local weather!
hFF and a good weekend!
