Christmas Beetle

From Wikipedia. "Christmas Beetle" is a name commonly applied to the Australian beetle genus Anoplognathus, which belongs to the subfamily Rutelinae. They are known as Christmas Beetles because they are abundant in both urban and rural areas close to Christmas.
There are about 35 species. This one was about 25mm long.

Sadly, it's an ex-beetle, Edna. The numbers of these seem to have dropped in recent years and this was the only one I'd seen this summer. So excitement got the better of me.
