I'm reasonably confident that this is Motuarohia Island (Maori) aka Roberton Island, considered to be one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand's Bay of Islands. Unfortunately our tour didn't allow time for us to land there.
Looks like a great place to see. It would be even nicer to explore. I wonder if it was time constraints or conservation that stopped you landing there. Thanks for sharing.
It was essentially time and daylight constraints, Herb. We did land at another island later for coffee etc, but it was near dark when we returned to land.
The shape of the island and the clouds form a beautiful photo!
If I remember right, we landed there and could walk around a bit but as the rain never stopped my main memory is being very wet;-) A pity you were running out of time as you had the perfect weather!
