Wandering Emu

Not far from where we saw the feral goats (earlier images) we saw a couple of emus alongside the road. We later saw more, but by the time the vehicle stops they tend to have wandered away. In the (rather blurry) PiP is one heading away from the vehicle.

Magnificent birds!
In Argentina we saw their cousins- always on the run, whereas in Chilean Torres del Paine they were less shy beacause they are protected.

They are funny looking creatures. It must be along time back when they lost their wings now.

Keep good. Herb

You managed to get a couple of good pictures George. I like the PiP which shows the speed the bird is running ;-))
