So did you also receive a lovely bouquet of Mayflowers from your loved one today? In France, the lily~of~the~valley is given to loved ones on the 1st May for La Fête du Muguet. This French custom dates back to the 16th century (inaugurated by Charles IX, King of France, in 1561).
