thanks! that hint of light is what drew me to this image in the first place - glad you noticed. (and it's the kind of photo that reminds me why i'm so happy to have my 1.8 lens.)

Nice to have a 1.8 lens, but they certainly are pricey. The closest I have is my Canon 100mm 2.8, though I do have also Canons Fantastic Plastic 50mm 1.8.

I managed to luck into a 35mm (50mm equivalent) 1.8 for my Nikon D40. When I'd first purchased the camera there were no single focus lenses for it with 1.8 - but demand brought it to be! My choice was to buy the lens or scrap the camera and start over as the kit lens made me hate the thing. For digital I now enjoy it most of the time.
