Hold the moment.. and you did

Polyrus replied to Pam J:

Thank you, Pam. I'm glad that I did, but not as well as I would have liked to. I find it much easier when there is more light to play with and not on a moving boat.

Glorious sky! The Thames barrier looks interesting- has it ever been put to the test in a really big flood?

Polyrus replied to Gudrun:

I found the Barrier interesting as I'd not see it close up before. Just the once from the air, when being flown into Heathrow.
Thanks for your interest, Gudrun. Not being a Londoner I'm not au fait with its frequency of use, but I found a webpage stating that "The Thames Barrier has been closed 176 times since it became operational". www.gov.uk/guidance/the-thames-barrier

Thank you, Maurice. It was a perfect sight to see, for my eyes. However it was far from perfect light for photography on a moving boat.

I thank you for your visit, Jeff. The boat's timing was spot on for making the view look so dramatic.

Thank you, Keith. I'm chuffed to have any photo as a memory of this fleeting moment and the chance to share the sight, but disappointed it turned out so flat.
