Don't cut any flowers off and take them into the house. It's bad luck. It won't be long before you need a step ladder to prune this. ;-)))

Never heard that one before Amelia..........but I didn't anyway!

I trim down the tree every year and never let it get higher than around 5ft tall.

The scent is not so strong at the moment, but it will be when the flowers open up. I should be able to get a shot of it in bloom in a day or two.

Very well photographed with perfect detail in the lilac and a lovely bokeh. Our warm weather of last week has made the lilacs in town open their flowers, yours is not far behind!
