Fool's Parsley Seedhead (Arethusa cynapium)

I found this growing in my front garden, probably because a few years back we spread around the contents of a large bag of anonymous wild flower seeds!

Don't confuse this with normal Parsley, (Petroselinum crispum). Fool's parsely is poisonous!

Keith Burton replied to Günter Klaus:

Thank you Güni...............I'm really happy that you like this image. I was actually in the process of cutting these plants down to stop them spreading and I noticed how interesting the seed head looked..........so of course I had to go and grab my camera.

Thank you for your generous comments. Enjoy the rest of today and I wish you a good weekend.

It's been raining here for two days now, almost without stopping..........and more to come probably. I hope your weather is better than ours!

Another great close-up from you Keith. Your variety in taking these never fails to astound me. Very well done. (I hardly need mention your expert capabilities in shooting these quite perfectly.)

Cheers. Herb

With umbellifrae I always assume they are poisonous as I don't know enough about which ones are safe;-)

Thanks very much Gudrun..........glad you found this one interesting. It's always sensible to be wary of plants you are unsure of.
