Budleigh Salterton Beach (+PiPs)

The River Otter Estuary and Otter Point in the distance. Probably best viewed large.

Two more views captured on the beach in the PiPs.

Thanks for looking.

A fine seascape scene here Keith. The two PiPs add to demonstrate the area. I am pretty sure we have explored the River Otter at some time too. Well done.

Thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

A charming beach scene in beautiful, traditional Budleigh Salterton Keith. The trees by the estuary gives the location away immediately to me. Best viewed large where we see the cross at the top of the hill and the beach huts that you have cleverly added in PiP along with the iconic phone box! Love that one :-))

A great view of the coastline and land beyond in you 2nd PiP along with the well planted boat on the pebble beach, which I read are called Bunter pebbles!

A superb set that makes me want to visit again soon :-))

Keith Burton replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

I thought you'd know the location Rosa...............and glad you took the trouble to view large. The cross stands on a slope that leads to the car park. A lot of the beach huts look pretty new this year, so were looking particularly nice!

Glad you like the PiPs as well. I've never heard the term "Bunter pebbles "before but I shall be looking it up later. Thanks for your lovely comments.

Edit: Just looked it up and found an interesting link here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunter_(geology)

Glad you like the look of this place Judite...........and my photos. Yes, normally in July with the schoolchildren on. holiday the beach would be really busy..!! Personally, I prefer it this way :-))

Yes indeed Ulrich..........usually in July, with the schoolchildren on holiday it would be really busy, but the weather has been awful.

I'm glad you like the view! Thank you.

An excellent overall scene with a lovely sky and superb composition,
I like the hint of haze and the boats pulled up on the beach,
Add the pips, and you have presented a wonderful mini-series Keith!

Those boats are some spiffy, Keith, and well placed in your very effective composition. The pastel huts are appealing, too, especially balnced by the red phone box.
