Black & Yellow Longhorn Beetle (Rutpela maculata)

Taken in my garden on some Feverfew flowers. I saw it flying at first, and thought it was a wasp!

This is the first time I've seen one of these in the garden, so I'm happy to have got this one.

Please view large if you have time..........thank you for looking.

Keith Burton replied to Günter Klaus:

Thanks Güni.........I'm very pleased you like this image. The Feverfew flowers are very popular with the insects, but they are nearly finished flowering.

(But I've still got another couple of photos to post yet)>

A terrific shot Keith. So they feed on flowers then! I have some feverfew next to a log pile, which I think can be where they might emerge from. It's a lovely picture of the beetle and flower, and the bokeh backdrop is superb.

I hope you have a good weekend. It's raining here right now!

Wow as everyone has already said - this is a fantastic shot, Keith. The details you've managed to capture are fabulous, and the beetle looks as if it's tired and is rubbing its back.
