We stopt today for lunch at a municipal park where a sandy beach not only had a couple of dozen people swimming, but also a few dead pricklies (or sparntickles, or sticklebacks) in the sand. I expect they had just spawned and then duly had given up their ghosts. In their death they were joined by the lively flesh flies, or fish flies, or whatever you call them.

So it all continues.
