I have known D and E for something over fifty-five years -- all our adult lives. But we hardly ever see each other these days. Yesterday, as my wife and I were walking through their neighbourhood, they were stopped to pick up their mail, so we chatted for ten minutes or so.

We talked about surgeries and grandchildren, geezer topics, but also about bicycles -- E was teasing me with stories of his new bike.

Just as they'd got back in the car, I asked for a picture. They obliged.
