The come-as-he-pleases clown-patch Purple finch was back today for a few sunflower seed nibbles. He put up with the geezer guy with the camera for a few shots. Then he was off to wherever he goes with his fellow-travelling goldfinches.

Usually we see Purple finches through the winter. He is still the *only* Purple finch we've seen at our feeder since they all disappeared for the winter. And here it is half-a-day before spring.
