John FitzGerald replied to Joe, Son of the Rock:

Thanks, Joe. Many fine ironworkers moved to Toronto in the 1950s and 60s, and you can find some excellent examples of their work there. They also gave older Toronto neighbourhoods a distinct look when they saved old porches from collapsing by replacing their sagging pillars with iron supports.

HBM and a good week!

John FitzGerald replied to Roger (Grisly):

Thanks, Roger. As I mentioned to Joe, immigrant ironworkers from Italy have created some excellent wrought iron in Toronto, and have given Toronto's older neighbourhoods a new, improved look.
