View from the Plaza de Mayo 4
The Plaza de Mayo is the main square in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It takes its name from the May Revolution of 1810 that led to independence. It was the the scene of some of Argentina's most significant political and social events, including demonstrations by the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, a collection of mothers seeking information about their children who "disappeared" as a result of government action during the military dictatorship (Dirty War, 1976-1983).
