"La petite fugue" by Maxime Le Forestier -
Translation

It was always the same, but we loved it all the same, the old-time fugue that the three of us used to play.

We were clumsy, it was difficult, the fugue of bygone days that the three of us used to play

Eléonore attacked the theme on the piano. We found it so beautiful that we'd stop playing to listen to her.

Then she'd stop abruptly, look up at us from her stool and say: 'Resume! mi fa mi fa mi ré'!

It was always the same, but we loved it all the same, that old-time fugue the three of us used to play.

We were clumsy, it was difficult, that old fugue we played all three of us.

Remember that a violin was thrown on the floor, because it was always the "sol" that bothered Nicolas when it was flat.

When the neighbors started protesting, it was snack time. Bye Jean-Sébastien, and see you next Thursday!

One day Eléonore left the house, taking the tuning fork with her.

From that day on, we never tuned our violins.

One by one, we dispersed. Only the fugue remained, and every time I hear it, it's springtime!

Oh Roseha this is so lovely. the sheet music in the background and the portraits of the three children, the boy and older girl in deep concentration and the little one, 'Eléonore', at the piano is so young and adorable. Thank you for the translation and the music video. Nice to see Nana Mouskouri in it.
