It is a Plaxton Supreme IV bodied Ford R1114 that had been new to Walker of Tadcaster in September 1979. The scroll beneath the front windscreen read ‘Windsor Castle’.

The lay-by was occupied by an Eastern Counties Omnibus Company Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR working the 0915 Lakenheath-Bury St. Edmunds service 152 (due 0933) and also a Neal’s Travel mini-bus working the 0940 service to Beck Row.
