Friday 26 July 2024 (1254) – First Eastern Counties Buses buses seen in Castle Meadow, Norwich.

Left: 36183 (BN12 JYF) seen in Castle Meadow, Norwich. It carries a heritage livery being that used by the company after privatisation from the National Bus Company. The fleet number carried (VW183) is in the alpha-numeric style used by ECOC (VW being Volvo Wright). It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL that was new in June 2012 to First Games Transport for use at the Olympic Games.

Centre: 36551 (BK73 AGY), a Wrightbus Streetdeck Electroliner double decker delivered in September 2023, working service 12 to Sprowston, Wroxham and Hoveton.

Right: 63636 (BK24 AAF), a Wrightbus GB Kite Electroliner delivered in March 2024, working service 16 to Silfield. The style of destination display cannot always be caught by the camera but this one read ‘Bus Diverted – Ask driver for details’. I don’t know just where or what the problem was but the driver by the bus door was telling his colleague who taking over the bus to watch for certain obstacles on the diversion.

I had travelled on 36551 earlier today and boarded 63636 here for a short ride. They were two of the ten buses (and then a coach) on which I travelled today during a bus riding trip to Norwich. The buses were:
