Thursday 4 August 2016 (1029) – Whippet Coaches WD435 (LK04 FLE) seen at Madingley Road Park and Ride site, Cambridge. Whippet, owned by Australian based Transit Systems which also owns Tower Transit in London, began operating a new service on 23 July 2016 branded ‘Universal’ and using service letter ‘U’. It links Madingley Road Park and Ride site with Addenbrooke’s Hospital and replaced Stagecoach (Cambus) ‘Uni4’ service. A Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in September 2004 new to First Centrewest (London) as their 32499. In June 2013 Tower Transit acquired First London’s operations, this bus came with the sale and was later transferred to Whippet.
