DSCF4625 Whippet Coaches WD433 (LK54 FLC) in Cambridge - 4 Aug 2016

Thursday 4 August 2016 (1001) – Whippet Coaches, owned by Australian based Transit Systems which also owns Tower Transit, began operating a new service in Cambridge on 23 July 2016. Branded ‘Universal’ and using service letter ‘U’ it links Madingley Road Park and Ride site and Addenbrooke’s Hospital. It replaced Stagecoach (Cambus) ‘Uni4’ service. WD433 (LK54 FLC), seen in Trumpington Street, is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in September 2004 new to First Centrewest (London) as their 32497. In June 2013 Tower Transit acquired First London’s operations, this bus came with the sale and was later transferred to Whippet.
