Notre-Dame d’Avesnières was built in the 11th and 12th centuries in the Romanesque style. In the 19th century, it was elevated to the status of a basilica, and a bell tower combining Gothic and Renaissance styles was added to top the roof. It houses a rich collection of statues. I was impressed by the 3.50-metre-tall statue of Saint Christopher (16th century, on the right in the collage).

BANC DOUBLE DANS LA COUR DE L'EGLISE. Notre-Dame d’Avesnières a été construite aux XIe et XIIe siècles, dans un style roman. Au XIX siècle elle est élevée au rang de basilique, et un clocher mêlant les styles gothique et Renaissance vient compléter le toit. Elle renferme un riche ensemble de statues. J'étais impressionnée par Saint Christophe (XVIe) avec ses 3,50 m de haut (à droite dans le collage).

Besonders beeindruckt hat mich der 3,50 m hohe Heilige Christophorus aus dem 16. Jh. (rechts in der Collage).
