De 1863 à 1878, le peintre impressionniste Camille Pissarro fit de nombreux séjours en Mayenne, au domaine de Monfoucault chez son ami peintre Ludovic Piette, qu'il a connu à Paris. Aujourd'hui, on peut suivre les traces de ces deux peintres, découvrir les chemins qu'ils ont empruntés, les lieux qui les ont inspirés à créer douze de leurs œuvres. Le parcours est jalonnée de reproductions où l'on peut voir in situ ce qu'ils ont peint à l'époque.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF PISSARO - THE DISCOVERY OF ART IN NATURE. From 1863 to 1878 the impressionist painter Camille Pissarro spent many stays in Mayenne on the Monfoucault estate with his friend and painter Ludovic Piette, whom he met in Paris. Today you can follow the footsteps of these two painters, discover the paths they took, the places that inspired them to realize twelve of their works. The walk is lined with the corresponding reproductions, where you can see in situ what they painted back then.

AUF DEN SPUREN VON PISSARO - DIE ENTDECKUNG VON KUNST IN DER NATUR. Von 1863 bis 1878 verbrachte der impressionistische Maler Camille Pissarro zahlreiche Aufenthalte in der Mayenne auf dem Monfoucault-Anwesen bei seinem Freund und Maler Ludovic Piette, den er in Paris kennenlernte. Heute kann man in die Fussstapfen dieser beiden Maler treten, die Wege entdecken, die sie eingeschlagen haben, die Orte, die sie dazu inspiriert haben, zwölf ihrer Werke zu verwirklichen. Der Spazierweg wird von den entsprechenden Reproduktionen gesäumt, wo man heute in situ sehen kann, was sie damals gemalt haben.
