When you arrive in the beautiful town of Huy, situated between LIège and Namur, you can see the citadel above the Meuse, which replaced the old fortified castle destroyed in 1717. The current fort was built between 1818 and 1823 during the so-called "Dutch" period.

AUJOURD'HUI, UNE CLÔTURE BELGE POUR VENDREDI. En arrivant dans la belle ville de Huy, située entre LIège et Namur, on aperçoit au-dessus de la Meuse la citadelle qui a remplacé l'ancien château-fort détruit en 1717. Le fort actuel est construit de 1818-1823 durant la période dite "Hollandaise".

Bei der Ankunft in der schönen Stadt Huy, die zwischen Lüttich und Namur liegt, sieht man oberhalb der Maas die Zitadelle, die die alte, 1717 zerstörte Burg ersetzt hat. Die heutige Festung wurde von 1818-1823 während der sogenannten "Holländischen Periode" erbaut.
