Teutoburger Wald : Blick auf die Externsteine

The giant Externsteine sandstone pillars have been standing in the Teutoburg Forest since the Ice Age. A series of huge columns jutting out of the earth and soaring into the sky: the Externsteine rock formation is undoubtedly one of the most impressive natural monuments in the Teutoburg Forest region.

The stones appear otherworldly to some of the 500,000 or so people who visit the attraction each year, and some even say that they have magical powers...

PiP image seems even more impressive to me. Some artificial installations visible there, if I'm not mistaken? (Unfortunately, the small size of the image does not allow to see details).
Oh, sorry, I already looked what it is by passing to the link. Thank you for sharing so interesting place!

Thanks Serge, I enlarged the PiP a little bit, but you are right: there is a bridge where you can walk from one rock to the other, and there are stairs and you can climb onto the top. From there is an amazing view on the surrounding landscape. It was really an interesting experience.

Merci Marie-Claire. A "must see" when you are in this part of Germany.

I like the way you framed the rocks. Fascinating formation. I could use some of its magic. :)
