Bridgwater Bay, Burnham on Sea. A humid day that became overcast with some light rain. Taking advantage of a break in the weather in the early evening we took a drive to Burnham on Sea to try to find a suitable photograph for World Photography Day.
There were only a few people left on the beach and in this image you can see the old wooden lower Burnham lighthouse on the far right and the island to the left of it is Steep Holm. The lady taking an evening stroll on the beach gave some foreground interest and I chose this picture simply because of the light and the feeling of wide open space.
As a lover of sunflowers I was delighted to see a very droopy bunch of sunflowers that someone has buried in the sand, just out of the picture. Hanging their heads down towards the sand the colours were still vibrant and I thought they added just a touch of the unusual which made my day. In my youth we just used paper flags to adorn our sandy creations!!!!
The sunflowers can be seen here:-
